Fantastic night at the Artists Private View of the @ingdiscerningeye where I’m thrilled to have had two of my pieces selected by judge Gabrielle Blackman and a further 2 pieces selected by judge Carol Leonard. It’s a huge privilege to be included in this highly esteemed annual exhibition alongside all of this incredible talent and all the more lovely to see those 3 red ‘sold’ stickers. The exhibition is open to the public from the 15th - 24th November. Sponsored by global bank ING, the ING Discerning Eye has been an important part of the British art scene for 26 years. This annual exhibition showcases small-scale artworks chosen by six key figures in the art world—two artists, two collectors, and two critics. This year, the selectors include artists Adebanji Alade and Nina Murdoch, collectors Carol Leonard and Gabrielle Blackman, and critics Paul Carey-Kent and Will Gompertz. Each selector curates their own unique section, resulting in six distinct mini-exhibitions within the larger show. This ensures a diverse range of styles and mediums, offering something for every visitor to enjoy. From thousands of submissions by artists across the UK, the selectors choose pieces they believe best represent contemporary British art. They also invite artists they admire to exhibit alongside those selected through the open call, creating an exciting blend of established and emerging talent. Visitors to the ING Discerning Eye can explore a wide variety of contemporary artworks and enjoy daily artist demonstrations, making it a great opportunity to discover new artists and appreciate a rich and varied collection of work.
